Shipping Policy
Shipping
Taverna Giudecca Ortigia uses GLS, BRT, and other local couriers. DHL is used only for international shipments.
Deliveries are made Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, exclusively at street level. Couriers do not provide porterage.
When ordering, you must include a telephone number (mobile or landline) so the courier can contact you if necessary.
Orders must be paid for in advance, so cash on delivery is not available.
Once the items have been shipped, it is no longer possible to change the shipping address.
Packaging
A safe for your products: we've chosen to use secure, patented packaging for our shipments. The boxes we use allow us to package bottles of wine, sparkling wine, spirits, and beer with special internal cardboard protection.
Delivery times
Orders received before 12:00 PM are handed over to the courier the same day and delivered within 3-4 business days in Italy and 5-6 business days abroad. During special periods (Black Friday, Christmas holidays, August), delivery times may be longer.
Shipping costs for Italy
The shipping cost is related to volume and weight.
For deliveries in the province of Syracuse, the amount exceeding €79.00 is free.
International shipping costs
Shipping costs for international shipments are calculated automatically by the system.
For shipments outside the EU, customs duties are not included and must be paid upon delivery of the goods.
Insurance
All shipped products are insured from the moment they are handed over to the courier until delivery to the customer. The goods are no longer insured once they have been delivered to the indicated address and collected. Before accepting an order, we ask customers to check the integrity of the packaging. Alternatively, the package can be refused or accepted with reservations, indicating the reason (e.g., dirty package, damaged package, suspicious noises, etc.). If the carrier does not allow the reservation to be entered, the customer must refuse the goods and notify our Customer Service.
Please note: if the package is accepted without specific reservations, Taverna Giudecca Ortigia will be unable to enforce the courier's insurance coverage and therefore reimburse the customer.
Pick up at our store
For faster delivery times, you can choose to collect your goods from the Ortigia stores at Via della Giudecca 7, or in Floridia at Via Polisena 161 A.
Orders received before 3:00 PM can be picked up starting at 5:00 PM the same day. Orders received after 3:00 PM can be picked up starting at 8:00 AM the following day. Our wine shop is open Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM-10:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM.
Free home delivery
For the city of Syracuse, a "Free Home Delivery" service is available for orders starting from €30.00, provided directly by Taverna Giudecca Ortigia.
Same-day delivery is guaranteed on weekdays, Monday through Saturday, for orders received before 11:00 a.m. Orders received after this time and on holidays are delivered the next business day.
Exchange and/or return policy
Returns
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return one or more items within 14 days of delivery, exercising your right of withdrawal. Products must be intact, unused, and returned in their original packaging, complete with tags and accessories.
To exercise the right of withdrawal it is necessary:

Once confirmation has been received from our Customer Service, the customer can choose between two return methods:
Pickup by our courier: You can request a courier to pick up your package directly at the address you provide. In this case, the service fee is €15.00, which will be deducted from your refund.
Shipping is at the customer's expense via a courier of their choice: in this case, the customer can arrange shipping themselves. A €8.99 fee will be retained to cover the shipping costs incurred by Taverna Giudecca Ortigia for the initial shipment of the order.
If the customer chooses to return the item using a courier of their own choosing and at their own expense, they are entirely responsible for delivery. In the event of loss, damage, or non-delivery of the package, a refund will not be possible. We therefore recommend using a traceable and insured service.
Conditions for the correct exercise of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal is considered to have been correctly exercised if the following conditions are met:
The products must be substantially intact, unused and undamaged.
They must be returned in their original packaging.
The return must be made in a single shipment (partial returns of the same order made at different times will not be accepted).
The withdrawal form must be sent within 14 calendar days of receiving the products.
Taverna Giudecca Ortigia reserves the right not to accept returns that do not meet the above requirements.
Refund times and methods
Once the returned goods have been received and inspected, Taverna Giudecca Ortigia will refund your purchase within 14 days of the date you exercised your right of withdrawal.
The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the purchase, net of any amounts withheld for shipping and/or collection costs indicated above.
If the payment was made by a person other than the recipient of the order, the refund will be made to the person who made the payment.
